Luke
8:16 “No one lights a lamp and then hides it, covering it over
or putting it where no one sees its light. No, he places the
lamp on a lamp stand so others benefit from its brightness.
Do you remember the song "This Little Light of Mine"? A
children's song but a powerful message.
This little light of mine, I'm going to let it shine......
Hide it under a bushel, no! .....
Don't let Satan puff it out!.....
Let it shine til Jesus comes!....
and so on
I didn't understand as a child what these words meant. But once
the Holy Spirit started revealing the scriptures to me, it
started to make sense. I found out that I could not keep in what
the Lord was revealing to me, but amazingly enough, many people
didn't want to hear it. They were like the people in the Bible
that didn't want to hear the good news that Jesus, and then the
disciples were trying to spread. Set in their ways and beliefs,
they just didn't want to hear. I didn't understand it and still
don't. Who doesn't want to hear the good news about healing,
prosperity and all the other great blessings that belong to us
as Christians?
Nevertheless, I continued to share what God was revealing to me
and still do today. Some listen, some don't, but that is not my
responsibility. It is the Holy Spirit's. God tells us to teach
the Word, no matter what. Some will receive and some won't. Just
do what God tells you to do. One plants, another waters and God
will give the increase. Don't hide the light of the Gospel under
a bushel, don't let Satan puff it out....Let it Shine until
Jesus comes! We don't know what part we play in the process,
just do what God tells you to do and He will do the rest.
1Cor. 3:7 This means the one who plants is not anybody special,
nor the one who waters, for God is the one who brings the
supernatural growth.
The important thing is that you are open to God revealing the
Word to you. Are you ready for whatever He wants to show you? Or
have you closed your mind because of tradition and things you
know as familiar. Don't have an un-teachable spirit. Once you
make the decision to open your heart to what God wants to show
you in the Word, step by Faith into the unknown and let Him
reveal to you the great mysteries that only He can show you.
1 Corinthians 2:10 But God now unveils these profound realities
to us by the Spirit. Yes, he has revealed to us his innermost
heart and deepest mysteries through the Holy Spirit, who
constantly explores all things. 11 After all, who can really see
into a person’s heart and know his hidden impulses except for
that person’s spirit? So it is with God. His thoughts and
secrets are only fully understood by his Spirit, the Spirit of
God. 12 For we did not receive the spirit of this world system
but the Spirit of God, so that we might come to understand and
experience all that grace has lavished upon us. 13 And we
articulate these realities with the words imparted to us by the
Spirit and not with the words taught by human wisdom. We join
together Spirit-revealed truths with Spirit-revealed words. 14
Someone living on an entirely human level rejects the
revelations of God’s Spirit, for they make no sense to him. He
can’t understand the revelations of the Spirit because they are
only discovered by the illumination of the Spirit. 15 Those who
live in the Spirit are able to carefully evaluate all things,
and they are subject to the scrutiny of no one but God. 16 For
Who has ever intimately known the mind of the Lord Yahweh well
enough to become his counselor?
Seeking revelation knowledge from God is an adventure into the
deeper things of God that will set you free!
John 8:31 Jesus said to those Jews who believed in him, “When
you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are
my true followers.
The Bible is not just a book of stories and rules and
regulations. It is life to all that read it and health to all
your flesh.
Pro 4:20 Listen carefully, my dear child, to everything that I
teach you, and pay attention to all that I have to say. 21 Fill
your thoughts with my words until they penetrate deep into your
spirit. 22 Then, as you unwrap my words, they will impart true
life and radiant health into the very core of your being.
Living Before God Our Father
1 Peter 1:13 So then, prepare your hearts and minds for action!
Stay alert and fix your hope firmly on the marvelous grace that
is coming to you. For when Jesus Christ is unveiled, a greater
measure of grace will be released to you. 14 As God’s obedient
children, never again shape your lives by the desires that you
followed when you didn’t know better. 15 Instead, shape your
lives to become like the Holy One who called you. 16 For
Scripture says: “You are to be holy, because I am holy.”
As we receive Revelation of the Word and Jesus we will
understand more of God's Grace and plan. And instead of being
conformed to our old way of thinking and lusts of the flesh we
will become more like Him. But how do we do that?
Romans 12:1-2 TPT
The Transforming Power of the Gospel
Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God’s
marvelous mercies? To surrender yourselves to God to be his
sacred, living sacrifices. And live in holiness, experiencing
all that delights his heart. For this becomes your genuine
expression of worship. 2 Stop imitating the ideals and opinions
of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the
Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This
will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful
life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes.
NKJV
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that
you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to
God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And do not be conformed
to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect
will of God.
We must become conformed to the Word and what it says. We have
to renew our minds and start to think like Jesus in all that we
do and then we will start to do what is good, acceptable and
perfect will of God. Notice the two different stages of growth.
Good and acceptable. And then moving on to the perfect will of
God. As we start off in the Word we will be in the first stage
of Growth. But only as we become more knowledgeable in the Word
will we even begin to understand what God's perfect will is for
us. That only comes from knowing the Word. And only knowing it
through the Holy Spirit. Only He can reveal the deep things of
God.
I know that if I have a need, I will search the scriptures to
find anything I can that has that provision. If I need healing,
I look up scriptures that promise healing, and then ask for
revelation on how to apply that scripture to my life. I renew my
mind to God's Word and take that word over any word of man.
Romans 3:3-4 TPT
3 But what if some were unfaithful to their divine calling? Does
their unbelief weaken God’s faithfulness? 4 Absolutely not! God
will always be proven faithful and true to his word, while
people are proven to be liars. This will fulfill what was
written in the Scriptures:
Your words will always be vindicated and you will rise
victorious when you are being tried by your critics!
Mark 7:13 TPT
13 Do you really think God will honor your traditions passed
down to others, making up rules that nullify God’s Word? And
you’re doing many other similar things.
No matter what you have been taught all your life, if it is
contrary to the Word of God, you need to let it go. God and His
Word, never lie.
