Fundamentals of Faith

Lesson 5

Believing With The Heart

Mark 11: 23,24

Romans 4:16-21

Hebrews 3:1 12:1-3

When believing with the heart, the mind and body need to forget the physical realm. We need to operate in the Spirit if Faith is to work.

We cannot consider our body or any of the circumstances around us.

2 Corinthians 5:7 We walk by faith, not by sight

If we look at the circumstances around us we will only get pulled back into the realm of what we "Feel" and "See". Faith is not physical, it is spiritual. If we can get that into our understanding, we are on the way to receiving from God.

John 20:24, 25 Thomas only considered what he could see and feel. He said I will not believe.

v27 Jesus called him faithless.

v29 Thomas, because you have seen me you have believed, blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Jesus called anyone that believed without seeing, blessed. Are you blessed or faithless? I want to be blessed.

So what do we consider if we are not to consider the flesh realm? Do we just pretend it doesn’t exist? NO! We are to consider JESUS!

All that He did and all He is doing now.

Isaiah 53: 4-5 Surely he has borne our griefs, and carried ore sorrows. yet we did esteem him stricken and smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities. the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed.

2 Corinthians 8:9 For we know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes, He became poor, that your through His poverty, might be rich

Jesus covered it all on Calvary. Whatever you need, He died for. So consider him, not the flesh or the circumstances that keep you in bondage. He has made us free!

What is He doing for us now?

Hebrews 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him seeing he ever lives to make intercession for them.

Jesus is always going before God on our behalf. If we will speak it in faith, He will do it.

Luke22:32 He also intercedes for us that our Faith fail not and that we may strengthen the brethren.

If others see our faith working, it will strengthen them to believe as well.

So basically what I am saying is, we have to believe with the heart, not the head. Faith must come from your heart. You need to plant it in your heart with the seed of the word.

John 15:8,9 So God, who knows the heart acknowledged them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as He did to us, and made no distinction between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith.

Colossians3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom

When the Word goes in and Power comes out, if we believe it. But it has to dwell in you richly. That doesn’t happen by just bits and pieces of the word, but abundant amounts. God has placed His innermost thoughts in the Bible for us to read and meditate on. Speak it out and it will become alive to you. It is the Word of God speaking to us.

When Jesus left He did not leave us alone. He left the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us into all truth. As we meditate on the Word He will teach us what it means and how it applies to our lives. It will become a Living Word, ready to meet all your needs.

We must remember the Word is God, speaking to ME! If you want to see God, look at the Word. If you want to see Jesus, look at the Word. If you want to see the Holy Spirit, look at the Word. We are so blessed that we can fellowship with the God-head by reading and meditating the Word. That is an awesome thought. Where the Word is, God is! You cannot separate the two. So when you are speaking the Word of God in Faith, He has to be there.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my Word that goes forth out of my mouth. It will not return to me void, but it will accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

God’s Word is Powerful. We are His mouth in this earth. If we speak it out and send it forth, it will accomplish for us, and prosper in what it is sent to do. If we become Word minded will give the Word dominion over the circumstances of your life. When we speak it, all of Heaven is there to see that it comes to pass for us. But, we must believe! Just saying it isn’t the key, believing it is. Have faith in God’s words and that will give you faith in your own words. When the word takes over our thinking, we will become Faith Minded! The word will have first place in our lives! When the devil comes against your mind, Faith will give him an answer! Instead of doubt and unbelief, we will knock him over with the Word of God! We can quote as Jesus did "It is Written!"

Hebrews 10:35, 36 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

Heart Faith is holding on to what God has said, and believing it.

Having patience when things look bleak, that the Word of God will prevail if we do not cast away our confidence in God’s Word.

Holding on no matter what that we will receive the promises of God, no matter how long it takes and what the enemy throws at us.

Enduring the attacks of the enemy, knowing that God will never leave us or forsake us, and that he is our rear guard!

Remember, Heart Faith grows out of the Word! Read it, meditate on it and speak it out and you will see the manifestation of what you need!
